1966 Ford F-250 has power brakes. The Booster is the small type. I don't know if it was dealer add on or owner added later. Are these boosters still available or can it be rebuilt? We are getting ready to put engine back in truck and want to get the brake plumbing and hardware in first. I have both power steering (Bendix) and manual boxes. I am thinking of just installing the manual box as it will be a work truck. Any opinions on Manual vs Power stering would be appreciated. Also I am upgrading to disc brakes from a 73 F-250 with dual piston calipers. I am useing a dual compartment master cylinder for a 73 as well as the proportioning valve from the 73 ( the rear brakes are the same on the 73 as the 66). Should I use a booster for the 73 or the 66?
Thank You!

I have a 1966 F-250 2WD 352/Auto that had power drum brakes. I'm upgrading to PS and disc brakes using a 74 F250 parts truck. The 74 has single piston calipers. My conversion is not yet complete. I need to install the 74 brake light switch and bleed the brakes after I correct the install of the brake calipers. Mine are on the wrong side and upside down. The bleeder valves are supposed to be facing up!.
I used the 74 booster. My guess was that was what I neeed with a 74 dual reservoir MS. The linkakage between the booster and the pedal on the 74 I used is the flat steel type versus the round rod type. The linkage is longer on the 74 than the 66 which will prevent you from connecting to the 66 brake pedal. To resolve this I added two pieces (one on each bracket) of square stock 3/4" aluminum between the firewall and the booster mounting brackets. I also used the 74 brackets and the 74 proportioning valve. The valve mounted on top of the Ford PS gearbox. I had to shorten my steering column as well. That was not fun! I hope this helps.
