It can be done. Sort of. If you want, check out the Dynatrac conversion to real bearings.

how often do you guys do this?? I have ESOF 4x4 and engage it every now and then and drive a little to "exercise" the hubs and transfer case. Is that enough?

In the winter I'm in 4x4 every day. Come summer probably once every couple of weeks. As far as "Is that enough?", well what is every once in a while? I'm not sure what the owners manual states, but I'm sure it will tell you in there how often you need to do it.

I don't believe that the owner's manual tells you, but the general consensus is to engage it once a month to keep everything kosher.

Greasing the hubs is important, but don't forget about the needle bearings. I've had to replace the ones in my V10. Didn't know they were there and it cost me a stub axle. Ford says that there is nothing to service in there, but the write up on guzzlers page will fill you in on that. I would do that every couple of years.
