1996 Ford V8 Explorer Specs

I have an older ford f100 I am building, and I have found a 1996 Ford Explorer, and I am wanting to use the engine and transmission out of it for the project. I am wanting to use the fuel injection and everything. Anyone know a good source for specs on that motor, as well as wiring diagrams and everything. Thanks

I'd start by getting a Haynes or CHiltons manual or get the factory spec and repair CD. You can usually get them off ebay or possibly download it free if you search long enough.

The best reference I found was the Ford Vacuum and Electrical Manual for the 1996 Explorer- picked it up on Ebay for a few bucks.

Alright. Any idea what tranny the 2wd truck would have had in it? Any problems or issues with this powertrain setup I need to know about going into this swap?

The automatics used the 4R70W. I don't know about manuals.
