whats the red thing ?
it seems everytime i fix a fuel leak another one starts... and i think the red thing is whats leaking this time ... do these things have a weeping hole like a water pump telling you that you need a new one? i hope not cuz i looked at the price of them and not cheep

There is a bolt with a jam nut under that cover. The jam nut should have a o'ring under it. Like stated above it is one of those do not adjust things unless you have been around a few of them. That bolt is also a guide for the govenor spring so if you remove it you better take off the top cover and make sure the spring stays in the proper spot.

Visit a diesel injection shop and see what they can do to fix it.......
At 230K miles your due for a new IP and injectors most likely anyway...... Buy them online if you MUST get them and intend to do the R&R yourself.
