Need some help

i have a 1993 4x4 f150truck runs great but reverse doesnt work , it feels like it slips. no codes truck has 154,000 miles. anybody have any ideas.

it could be alot of things. but when does it feel like its slipping? is it all the time or just at certain speeds or in certain gears? if your reverse already isnt working it could be likely you need a rebuild on the trans or a new one.

I'm figuring automatic-which one -the infamous E4OD?

1993 could also have the single-rail AOD, like mine does.

The E4OD is a fine transmission, but if you don't take care of it, it'll bite you in the azz.

not sure which tranny, will look tomorow. the truck will move in reverse when cold, but slips real bad. when it gets hot it wont move.

Drop the pan, check for not only metal, but band material. (Charcoal/metallic colored pieces.) Your reverse band may have went south. Fluid smell/taste burnt?
