Welcome to FTE and the Big Bronco Forum. We will endeavor to get you the most accurate information we can possibly muster.
Any issues with the cruise control? The symptom you describe is one of a pretty common set of symptoms that would lead me to believe that the problem is a dirty VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). A dirty VSS can cause the issue you described along with a jumpy or inaccurate speedometer and/or cruise control malfunctions. It may not cause all of these problems but all are symptomatic of a dirty or dying VSS. While its not the only possibility, its probably one of the easiest fixes and easiest things to check first. Pull the VSS out of the rear differential and clean it off with a lint-free rag. It is held in by one bolt on the top of the differential casing. It is not necessary to disconnect it from the wiring harness to do this unless you need to replace the sensor.
Another possibility, does the light come on when you turn the steering wheel one way or the other? If so, it's the clockspring connector under the steering wheel. This will also be the case if the horn will not function at the same time the abs light is on. Another clue to a clockspring is a flashing abs light.
