I put the RAS system on the rear of my 2000 EX V10 along with Rancho 9000xl shocks. Now the rear looks like it’s jacked up compared to the front. Can I put the RAS system on the front to help give it a slight rake look? I'm not really interested in changing to different springs right now and I do have Rancho 5000 shocks on the front I just installed. Just trying to avoid that old 80’s look when people jacked up the rear of their cars to look cool.
I don't think it will work as well on the excursion's front leafs, I don't believe their is enough arch to pull it in the right direction. If you can't afford the time or money to mess with putting on a leveling kit for the front, you might try taking some tension off the RAS spring. The spec calls for dropping a quarter between 2 or 3 coils. If you reduce it down, it should put less pull on the springs.
I need the extra tension for towning, where I have it now works great when I hook up my trailer. The springs on the front are different than whats on rear?
I'm not an expert on the Excursion, but I believe your front packs have either no or negative arch. The RAS only works on positive arch. If you really want to try it, call roadmaster and talk to them, I think Ralph or Dave was my tech contact.
If all else fails, you can get away with something like Fabtech's 2" box kit to level it out without needing new springs or shocks. I'd be weary of the 2.5" as you may need longer shocks.
