ok soo a couple weeks ago i noticed my volt gauge was low, so i took it to my local advandced auto and they tested my alternator and said it was fine, and showed that my battery's were kind of low soo i replace both of them with 1000CA 850CCA and now i noticed once again my volt gauge is low with headlights on and defroster on high my volt gauge needle is reading at the very bottom of the little battery symbol and it always use to be above up on the upper side of the little battery picture...i guess my question is WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON??? when i had this problem last time, i cleaned all my grounds and made sure they were tight and like i mentioned replaced the battery's and now its acting up again....
When they tested your alt, was it still in the truck? I have seen thouse test be worng before. It sounds like a bad alt, I would swap it out there in the parking lot so if it dose not fix the issue you can take it right back.
I've seen bad alternators pass the test at the parts store before. You might consider stopping by your local wally world and pick up one of these for about $15
Plugs into the cigarette lighter to tell you what voltage the truck is running. I've compared it to the volt readings I get with my AE scanner, and they match.

If you have a multi meter. Check the standing voltage of the batteries. Start the truck and see what it is running. Put on your high beams and any other electrical accessories. Do all of this at idle. The havesomeone revit up a bit and see what the voltage reads with everything on.
ok just tested the battery's when truck is not running they tested at 12.75 then i started truck and tested and turned on highbeams, and heater on high and both tested at 12.36, when i test the wire on the back of the alternator it also is reading 12.65..soo whats wrong here guys??? alternator and battery's are both brand new about 1hr old...
