Hi all, I have 2 1963 Ford pickups, one of them has a good running 292 motor with 3 on the tree tranny. The other has a locked down 292 and an automatic tranny. I want to install the good motor in the other truck as it is in much better shape. Im guessing that I need to use the bell housing that is with the auto tranny, pull the bell housing from the good motor that is now a standard tranny and then bolter up??? Will this combo work, Im a newbie F-100 owner LOL Replies Appreciated!
Yes I want to mate up the good 292 to the auto tranny in the good pickup. A friend said I should just pull the whole thing out, motor and tranny, clean it all up and see what I have.
Be sure to remove the pilot bearing from the crank. The flywheel from the auto engine will replace the flywheel from the manual engine, reuse the automatic flywheels bolts in the swap as the manual will be too long.
All will bolt to the same front and rear mounts for the engine.
