Burning smell
I have a '95 F150 with the 5.0. Awhile ago, when I had used the heater, it had a buring plastic/wire ozone smell. It got so bad that I had to stop it and get fresh air. Thinking it may have been the defective cruise control, I went to a Ford dealer to get it replaced.
It has been fine since, and that smell has not appeared until this morning again. It seems to be coming from the drivers side vents only. Is it the raidator core going out?

Some have had that smell on the drivers side and it turned out to be the PCM Computer going out on them. They also said that they had washed the firewall on the drivers side as it turned out they got water in the PCM Computers plug and shorted it out.
