Do I still need gauges??

My 2000 never didn't come w/ a tranny and boost gauge but they were added later by the previous owner. Now my 06 has the tranny and boost factory so I do I need to drop the cash for aftermarket ones too?

Yes. My 02 didn't come with a tranny temp gauge, but I sure could have used one as my tranny did fry up totally.

The actual display of the gauges on the dash are what is crap, the sensors that pick up the information are pretty sound, but if the accurate info isn't displayed, what good is the most accurate temp or sensor probe to you?

I'm currently running both analog and OBD-II gauges and while there is a different between TFT, the difference is negligible.

You need a egt gauge if you are running any kind of tuner or programmer and it is not a bad idea on a stock truck..... As tex stated the factory gauges arnt very acurate my 04 has a cold and a hot and a lot of inbetween room

I will prob. get an EGT then. So are yall saying there is a difference between the factory boost/tranny and what an aftermarket would read but the difference is slight?

If I needed additional gauges, would it possibly be cheaper to just get some type of digital monitorin from somebody like Edge. If not I know I would have to get the gauge and the pillar mount.
Thanks

Basically by the time the factories say its RED it could be too late...the damage could be done.

The price all depends on which setup you go with. The price range is going to run you from about $300 on up for 2 + gauges/monitor.....
