driveshaft differences???

I found a replacement driveshaft for my 68 f100. Just as a reminder, I have a 68 F with a 360/3sp manual with a 9" rear. Being that I couldn't locate one for a short wheel base (67-72), I found someone on another forum that has a 73-79 from a long bed that can be cut down. Am I going to run into any problems with this? He says its from a 3 sp and a 9" but my question is, is the spline going to be the same as my tranny? Didn't know if they made different ones from that big of time difference. It's no problem taking mine in also along with the long one but just wanted to make sure before I did it.

Your best bet is to call a driveshaft shop. They will tell you exactly where to measure from (yoke to yoke) and make you a brand new driveshaft, prolly for or near the cost of shortening one...

I believe the drive shaft from the 73-79 is a 2 piece shaft and the longer shaft is not long enough to work for yours.

I had my drveshaft shortened a few inches, each shop has there own way they like it to be measured. I believe i paid $80 to have it ballanced and shortened.
