I've been looking for info on where to access the wiring (2005 Excursion Limited 6.0L diesel) to install a dome/interior light over-ride switch similar to what GM trucks use on their vehicles.
It seems as though the assist step lights and interior lights will come on when any door or hatch is opened, maybe they have their own fused circuit?
All of the switches are mounted into the door latches. They are all wired to a body module. They ground the input to the body module, and the body module recognizes this as the door is open, and it sends a signal through the communication network to other modules that turn on the door ajar indicators in the dash, and the domelight system.
