Ive got a 1988 Ford e-350 7.3L IDI when running the vehicle the Engine Temperature indicator light comes on, however the temperature guage reads normal operating temp. Also, when I turn the ignition the "wait to start" light only stays on for 1/8th of a second. And it doesn't seem like the glow plugs are heating up.
Could this be a faulty temperature sending unit? If so then why would the guage be reading normal, whereas the "engine temperature" indicator light comes on? Also can any one tell me where the sending unit would be located?
The glow plugs work on resistance not temps. It sounds like you have 2 or more gps not working, but could also be a ground problem or controller problem. The most common is the gps themselves.
