Code scanner

What is the best kind of scanner to get to diagnose my truck at home myself? Are these trucks obd2, if so does a regular obd2 scanner do everything i will need?

What would i need to control all of the sensors individually to do some serious troubleshooting, is there anything that is a reasonable price or is this a dealer only or ridiculously expensive unit?

The closest you can get to ford factory software is the auto engunity with the ford liscensing package. Some of the sponsors of this site sell it.

Ebay has many scan tools at good prices. You will need the obdII with CAN capabilities. I bought the INNOVA 3130. Let's me test for everything I want to test for.
