Is the E-locker Option only available with a FX4? I was set on getting a FX4, but now am really liking the green stone paint which isnt offered on the FX4.
I went to the local dealer today and spoke with a salesman. Find out I know more about these new trucks than he does and I have only been researching them for a few days. Pretty frustrating, however I have learned a ton from this site in the last few days.
I also like the stone green. Particularly on beige (2 tone). So, i would get XLT with camel interior, or Lariat with black interior. Long bed, max tow package that has the 3.73 limited slip.
Yeah, but i would trust a limited-slip to get you through most places too. If you are going mudding a lot, i would get a set of BF Goodrich A/Ts and the skid plates for undercarriage. You would be fine.
i wouldnt go with the bfg's for mudding. thats not that aggressive, if you mud a lot then i would go with something like cooper stt's or mudgrapplers, both work great.
i took mine through a little mud last night and didnt need the locker. the limited slip works well, i think better than the older models, but then again the locker would be a good thing to have.
The BF A/Ts are good all around in my opinion, not solely a mud tire. I would only get M/Ts if you could be bothered changing them with street tires when going mudding. I am not as familiar with the Coopers
i have never ran the coopers myself but i have a buddy with a dodge that has them in 33's. very good tire, not as aggressive as a mudgrappler but still great offroad, and they dont really have to much road noise. plus they wear really good. not sure how many miles he put on his but they still look pretty close to new.
i personally like the mudgrapplers, i had then on my 05, lots of noise but they only got me stuck once. and it was some really sloppy gumbo mud down by the bay. and i got 45k miles out of them.
