after searching for hours for the self test plugs and not finding anything on driver side fender. I noticed that the Haynes manual said that on a 1996 you have to user a scanner. Is this true?
Anyways pulled codes and got P1132. Acording to the OBD2 codes , assuming my truck is OBD2 this is listed as something to do with a no heat from a oxygen sensor? Any ideas what this means?
truck info
1196 f250 460 e4od 4x4 I believe the build date was 4/96. Thanks guys

Shot in the dark here but if you found a test port for a scanner in the cab somewhere then you would have to be in California somewhere, since your truck is very likely well over 8500lb GVWR and none of those got OBD2 at all anywhere else in north america.
yup in california, 8800 gwr. couldnt see any of the test ports in engine compartment but did find a dlc connector under dash. checked fuel pressure, off it was around 40psi and running it was around 30 psi.
It held pressure for quite a while after stopped engine any other ideas?
i looked around on a few different sites and they mentioned vacum leak, dirty maf, but i only got the two codes p1131 and p1132 both pertaining to bank 1. I figure that if there was a vacum leak or something wouldn't it affect both the bank 1(left side) and bank 2(right side)?
here's how it all started. a few days ago i went to adjust hitch on trailer so i can begin my vacation today. went well but while driving home at a stoplight began sputtering and had absolutly no power just dogged. after a few seconds cleared up and all was well. nothing for a few days. picked up trailer on Sat. and same thing happened. Cleared up and all was well. So i got loaded up and 45 miles from the house check engine light came on. aftert a few posts I replaced both oxy. sensors, only $50 a piece so I did both. Drove for 30 min, including freeway. then shut off for 15 min. then again drove for 30 min. then off. Didn't get a code to come back. I was thinking it might be the cat but it has power thru the driving range. So hopefully she'll make it tomorrow. Rough gas mileage though. unloaded 8.4 miles per gallon, towing trailer 7.4 miles per hour. ouch
