'03 overhead console

I did look at the nice thread with the photos and instructions how to fix the overhead console, but it seems that's to fix it to work alltogether, at least have it display.

mine works, it shows temp and miles to empty. but the mpg (i know, not accurate) it's stuck on 14.2, does this "fixing the soldered resistors" help this too? Thanks!!

** update. well, there was one resister off, so looks like i need to fix it. however... now i need a new console cover. when pulling from the front, the console came down with not too much of a struggle, 3 of the 4 tabs broke into pieces. i have a photo in my gallery. what now???

I have replaced many headliners in my time, and you always break something when taking the interior apart. Most of the time there are enough good clips that it will still hold it, even if some are broke. A 2 part epoxy glue may work also to glue the missing pieces back together.

ok, i found the other resistor. luck of the day??? wow! on my seat.

so, i have soldered them in, and one other was loose, so basically i touched up the 4th one too.

now, it works, (i don't know about the average until i drive it, to see if it's fixed, but now i have a compass showing too.

well... question. maybe i got something too hot... when it's "off" but the key is on, i have these orange lines going across the screen. when i push a button, it shows the screen properly, but is that normal??? it looks orange, like radiant heat you may see in a shop.

Thanks people!
