door panel

Can any of you guys give me some instructions on how to remove the door panels on a 06 scab. I just ordered some new component sets and have never taken off my door panels before. Thanks

you know what neither have i, but i believe that there are screws hidden behind little panels that can be removed then you should be able to lift the panel up and then out

If the 06 is the same which I think it is... You dont have to remove the entire door panel assembly....i Believe if you just carefully pry the plastic grill from the top to the bottom you should have access to both the speaker and the tweeter mounts.

If you ordered from crutchfield, you'll get detailed instructions with pictures. For the front door, carefully pry the grille off then use a 7/32 socket to remove the speaker and like Batteries said, you'll have access to the tweeter hole also.

The rear panels have to come off. First gently pry and pull off the 2 upper trim panels. This will expose two 6mm screws. Remove these 2 and one at the bottom center of the main panel. Next use a small screwdriver to pry off the little panel inside the handle. Remove 2 6mm screws here to remove the handle. Now pry up the power window switch panel and disconnect to remove. This will expose 1 8mm screw that needs removed. Now pull up and out to remove the panel. Pretty easy really.
HTH

(If you are planning to dynomat the door skins, then a whole lot more stuff has to come off)

it's pretty easy man. I just took mine off today

you have to remove the following bolts:
- 2 screws at the very bottom of the door panel
- on the door handle, gently pry the access cover off
...- there are 2 bolts, remove those
- gently pry the speaker cover off
...- remove the 4 speaker bolts and unplug pigtail
...- there are 2 round plastic things that the bottom speaker bolts go through...pull them out
- gently lift the window/lock panel up
...- unplug the 2 pigtails and set the switch panel aside
...- remove the bolt attatching that frame to the door (same size bolt as the ones for the door handle)
once you have all that removed, gently lift up on the entire panel. it will just pop off. then feed the door handle through the door

hope that helps.

Don't pry off the speaker grille on the rear door of a SuperCab!! It won't come off like the front door, it's built into the main door panel.

Here is a link that refers to replacing the power window motor. They are replacing the back door and it is good for the pictures since the same process applies to get to the speakers. The front grills pop, off the back doors do not.
