auto-hub stuck locked?

As usual, the rubber hoses for the Excursion's auto-locking hubs were shot when we bought it. Well, I finally got around to replacing them when I did a brake job and to my surprise - they worked!! Cool, momma likes her dashboard control of 4wd. Not cool, pass-side hub will not UNLOCK now. I tried locking and unlocking a few times at hwy speed - no luck. The manual hub is hard to turn on that side, but works ok and other side locks/unlocks fine (so far ).

Its getting ball joints here in a couple of weeks and I want to fix this while I have it all torn down. What parts if any should I get?? Is there a lubricant/etc. I can put in the vacuum port now?

Use DuPont Teflon spray lube on the hub to make turning the selector a little more easier. Its o-ring safe. Guzzle suggested its use and I found it at Lowes next to the WD40. Worked almost instantly on mine. Just spray it in the TINY gap and let it do its job!

Guzzles write up should fix you up good!
