Bad oil leak

Warming my truck up this morning I came outside to find a huge puddle of oil under it.

Here is a picture of the leak

I think this is a really bad spot for it to be coming from.

What does this mean for my truck? How do I fix it? Can I fix it? Help please

Joe, It looks to me like the turbo pedestal o-rings, probably the top ones have failed. It could also be the EBPV actuator on the pedestal as the pics are a little dark on my side.

The pedestal o-rings are not a huge problem to replace but it does require the turbo to be pulled.

That kit looks good, the installation pictures make me think this is the problem. But I would like to get these parts now so I can do this today, any ideas where I can pick this up?

You might also check your plenum boots. If they haven't been cleaned in a while, they are known to leak oil down the back of the motor.

You can pick up o-rings at a Ford dealer and I think they even have some kind of a kit available at some. Just don't let them know how much you have in your wallet 'cause they will take it all.

I really think this turbo kit will fix it, I just put some oil in it and started it and there was no leak but when I shut it off it leaked, why?? And although I couldnt see exactly where the leak was coming from with everything still in the way I am most positive it is coming from right around the turbo. I am heading to ford now to get the parts.

I agree with Guzzle, its your turbo to pedistal, or pedistal to engine block. There are o-rings in both, and since you have to replace one or the other, I would replace both while I'm in there.

I figured that it wasn't the boots making that big of a mess, just giving him another thing to check just to make sure.
