Rear Rotors
I just replaced what I believe were warped front rotors two weekends ago. The truck now shudders even worse than before. I had had the front rotors machined once and decided to just replace them. The truck has 71k on it and we bought it at 46k.
My question is this: is it likely that the fronts and rears were warped before but were just cancelling each other out, and now that the fronts are presumably good, the rears are rearing their ugly head? That they are now free to show their full warpedness? I have never machined the rears.
I believe that warped front rotors reveal themselves by a steering wheel shake. I specifically looked for that with this new shudder and don't feel it at all. Would that tell me that it is likely the rears that need replaced? I don't want to just replace them just to see but it seems likely that that is the problem.
Of course I could have gotten a bad set or front rotors but think that if they were bad, I would have the steering wheel shake if that were the case.
Whatcha think?
