Headlight Switch Replacement

Ok so my Headlight Switch on my 95' F150 is gone but how do I get the button off. And do I remove the small panels around the switch and the fuel selector or do I take off the dash whats the best way?

I've looked at the switch and can't figure out how to get it off hence I cant drive at night. Help Thanks!

there should be a slit on the center shaft-you got to take something small and push it back towards the **** part!towards you and it should pop right off if ya pull it towards ya!
the rest should just be screws and clips-comes off pretty easy.

Found The Slot

Before which I figured was the "Key" tried a mini screw driver to pull it back but there wasn't really a tang or anything you could see, or push back. I did put a magnifying glass on it to help but alas to no avail I'll try it again.

Guessing when I get to that point I'll have to remove the complete dash panel as well and not just pry those small covers off. Maybe somebody has some additional experience with this Thanks!

Last time I was involved with light switches, there was a button on the top of the switch, behind the dash. Push down on the button, pull **** and shaft out together. Hope this helps some.

I've replaces the switch on my 93 twice. On the back of the **** is a spring clip, you should be able to see it when you pull in out to the on postion. Just use a screw driver to push the clip toward the ****, while pulling on the ****. It should come off.
The dash is screwed on. you have to pry the grey trim strips off, underneath theree are little slots to stick a screwdriver in, and they pop off easy. oh I almost forgot, once you have the **** off, you have to unscrew the retaining nut on the switch shaft. ok I can't remember, but I think there are some screws at the top of the dash panel. If there isn't, then it's just opush in clips that you just have to pull on the panel and it will come off easy enough. From there, I think you can fugure out the reat of the removal.

that was how I did it-a small screwdriver-took me longer to walk outside than it took to take it off-just wanted to try and make sure i was correct on my answer to ya-pull light switch out fully extended-turn till ya see a small slit -insert small screw driver and pull both towards ya gently-it's like a spring loaded retaining clip-pressure from the screwdriver being pulled towards ya releases it-been the same since 87-maybe earlier
