i have 78 2x4 flairside......so at some point in the proccess of putting together your truck ,,,everyone has to start thinking about tire and weel packages rite? i really like the old hotrod look with the slightly smaller and skinny tire in the front and fat taller tires in the back,,,,i also know this is not the best for handling...so mabey wide lo-pros all around...mabey wide lo-pros but the fronts just a smaller rim size so it gives that same old smaller in front look but still a wide lo-pro proformance....so what im gettin at is how does one go about trying to see what a set will look like and once you find a set you like,,,,how do you know exactly what sizes to buy. and has anyone in here just gone to the local tire warehouse and spent a few hours takeing tires out and putting them next to your truck and steppin back ,,,,,i know they hate that ...but i do it anyway....just thinkin there has to be a better way

im pretty sure tire rack.com has a thing that will show you what they will look like. or check google images, they have about anything you could want on there. personally, i dont like the 40 and 50 series stuff. around here, you get into tires that low, your asking for trouble with the pot holes. you will get better handling, but you have to remember, it's not gona be that great cuz its a truck.

yea pot holes are tuff in my area too...but i think goin from 15 to 16 inch rims will help with the ground clearence with the 50 series tires....i just know i want a lowered stance for this truck as it is 2 wheel drive...mabey i should post a thread askin people with lowerd 2 wheel trucks to post pics so i can see what they have done .....
