weird noise under hard braking
this is something that's been going on for awhile now......when i brake hard or even sometimes under hard acceleration i get a thump or a dragging pop under the driver side floor board of my 350. it almost feels like something is loose and moving forward and back to where it wants to be. checked front-end and everything seems tight. also when my heater is on defrost the heater box makes a thump sound, like the heater door is opening and closing, but i never lose defrost????????.

I've had that same thump under the drivers side floor when I brake for the last 10k miles. I have changed the front sway bar end links but that did not fix the problem. Other ideas that I have read suggested that it could possibly be a bad ball joint or the body mount bushing on the drivers side.

ive checked all that stuff.....it feels like the front spring is moving back and forth when it does it. ive had it in the air and pryed on the shackles and hangers and all feels tight.also when its empty and i come to a stop it feels like the rear axle is rotating. when i let off the brake pedal i can feel the rear end "rotate" when i let the load off of the brakes, like the spring pins are rolling in the shackles. it's been doing this for awhile and i figure i'd better look into it before the summer tow season.
