over this last weekend i installed new uppipes from diesel innovations, along with highfolw outlet and non ebpv ped. the flange between the turbo exhaust inlet and the uppipes leaks, at least when cold, and in an effort to tighten the clamp i broke it. my question is, is the leaking normal, does it go away when the engine gets up to temp., and does anyone make an improved clamp?
It is not normal, and will effect GPM, and performance. If it leaks cold, and not hot, this is short term. The expansion and contraction will eventually make the leak worst.
Contact Ed the FTE parts guy, or even Clay Riffraff to find out about a better clamp..
There is a pin that the flange has to be lined up just right to fit on the turbo. The clamp will not fit right if the flange is not in the slot/pin. You may have to loosen the up-pipe flanges at the manifold, and might have to loosen the 2 bolts that hold down the turbo to get everything lined up right. It is better to have some help with this. Good luck.
