Interior Help

I have restored a 1981 Ford F100. The truck was a Custom so there was no headliner or carpet behind the seat. I have found a full interior out of a 1986 and want to put it in mine. I noticed on the back of some of the interior pieces there is some type of clamp. Especially the plastic and metal around the headliner. Am I missing the holes these clamps go into or am I just positioning it wrong in the truck. My next idea is to just tactfully screw the interior trim up. If it is possible to use the factory brackets, I would rather do this. Any help is appreciated.

Yes from factory there are holes cut into the cab for these pieces.Alot of people just put screws through them.I'm planning on doing the same thing with my 80 F100.

You should already have the slots along the windshield even if you didn't have a headliner to begin with.

I can't remember if they are used along the back window though. It's been quite a while since I did the same thing to mine.

I'd have to take a look tomorrow when it gets light, but IIRC there are 3 screws that hold the rear piece in place and IIRC you do in fact need them along the tops of the doors.

Does anyone supply the white plastic blocks that the rear cab-liner pieces are screwed to?
Mine are all hardened & cracking one by one

Hey thanks everyone. So I guess I am going to have to drill holes in the interior pieces and screw them into the cab. What are these white plastic pieces Ken Blythen is referring to...will I need those? Looked at a 91 f350 today and it has screws from the factory. Must have done away with the clips. Thanks again.

The white plastic blocks go behind the B Pillar moldings. The ones that run from the floor to the ceiling in the cab corners.

They are just spacers.
