Rear differential fluid
I started changing the fluid in my rear diff. ('02 F250, 7.3 4x4 Crew), and the there was a metal tag attached to it which said to use 75w140 synthetic gear oil only. Is this the norm?

Yep my 05 has a tag on it and put the synthetic fluid in it when I changed to the aluminum diff cover.

The service manual recommends different fluids for front and rear. 75w140 sounds right for the rear, I think the front was 75w110. If you notice a chattering noise after the change, pick up some friction modifier.

Yep, they all came out of the factory with synthetic, and want synthetic back in. I went synthetic all the way under the truck.
