Question about the supercrews.

Hey all, been awhile since ive posted, but im lookin at another blue oval, and had a few questions. First, will a 450 size quad fit in the back of a supercrew with the tailgate up? Whats the max tow with the 5.4? Any help is appreciated!

Well it doesnt really matter because i have a 6x14 trailor for me and my girlfriends quads, it would just be a perk if i was riding by myself locally if i could just throw it in the back of the truck. Im sure i will never reach max tow if i bought one, most i tow is 5,000 lbs.

just put the quad in the back. 5.5' bed won't shut...but the 6.5' beds apparently can. the tailgate would be fine IMO for the front of a quad to be on

Max tow for a properly equipped Screw is 9,200 I beleive...deduct 500 lbs from that (8,700 lbs) if you have the 18" or 20" rims option

I've hauled a 500cc Honda Rubicon in the back of a 5.5' SuperCrew with no problem whatsoever. Like was said above, I just had to leave the tailgate down. I had to do this every time in my '01 and even my SD because I kept a tool box in the bed. No problems. The cables on the tailgate are plenty strong if that is what you are worried about.

I got a 450 polairs sportsman 4x4 and the back tires just stick out to far for the tail gate to close on a 6.5' bed. No probelms hauling like this. Did it one time for 600 miles.

similarly, I had a KFX400 and the tailgate closed on my 6.5' bed, but not even close with a Kawasaki BF650.

I'm guessing if it's a 450 sport quad, it will probably fit with tailgate up. If it's a utility quad, probably not.

No big deal, a tie down strap at each corner will keep it from going anywhere. ratchet straps are even better.

I actually have two quads i ride, kfx700, and a 07 yamaha wolverine 450 4x4. I dont take the kfx anywhere but up to my campsite, and when i go there i take the trailor cuz i take three quads up. But when i ride locally i like to just put the wolverine in the back of the truck.
