Hey guys recently i was out 4 wheeling in the desert at night and somebody had dug a 5ftx5ft hole in the ground by the side of the road. Unfortunatly i didn't see it in time and my passenger side dipped into it. it was so deep that my fram was sliding on the ground. when the tire hit the other side it popped the truck up out of the hole but also popped the tire.
i hit the ground so hard my rear drivers side window shattered, luckly i have tint.
I drive a 92 flareside 302 4x4
hardly any body damage, but the front end is a different story. now ther axle shaft and the I-beam are touching each other about 18' outside of the pumpkin, where one of the holes in the I-beam is. it has left a 1/4 inch wide 1/32 deep scrape in the axle. i have 31-10.50-15 tires and they never rubbed. now the passenger side tire rubs on the radius arm bad.
What couldv'e bent down there? the radius arm looks fine. so does the I beam. Thanks for the help!
good question... I used to live in the country and farmers would dig big trenches in the fields to wreck trucks when we went boggin without permission, we learned quick to ask and most didn't care
Either the frame or the radius arm bracket attached to the frame. The bronco I have had a similar accident on ice once before I bought it. Messed the driver's side up something fierce because it hit a culvert. It had a bent radius arm and bracket on the driver's side as well as a trashed tire.
yea i would check the mounts out i have to reinfroce all the drop down brackets on my lift but i would think the mounts would bend before the frame now if it was a chebby itd be totaled lol
yea we were allowed to be on the land. it was out at four peaks, arizona.
i'm gunna need to double check and see if the frame or the radius arm mount are damaged at all. i don't remember seeing anything. I had it in four wheel drive the rest of the night and i didn't hear any screechs or anything.
i found a complete front end on criagslist for 200$. You guys think its a good investment?
