My stock stereo in my 2006 F350 SD is a am/fm/cd (single) unit. It has an aux button, when pressed display says "no aux connected". Can I assume from that there is an auxiliary connection on the back of the head unit somewhere? Or is ford teasing me to get me to take my dash apart?

 

Along with the AUX button, there should be some hints to changer controls, like a disc up or down or maybe a shuffle button. There is most likely a 16-20 pin aux plug in the back for either sat radio or a changer.

 

Thanks ReAX! If I have a 5C3T-18C869AJ unit, any ideas on the best people to talk with on getting a setup for aux connection(s)? I had a quick look around the net, but, not really sure where to start looking...

 

Check this site, they should have the proper adapter to plug into the back of your stereo so you can use the AUX button:

I agree, I really like the PIE adapter, but also consider PAC, Peripheral and Axxiss.
