This might have be posted, but I just can't find it.
This is weird. I was driving my 2006 Ford F250 - 5.4L (95,000 miles) today and my engine just shutdown. Everything was warmed up and I had no warning lights on my dash turn on. It was like I had turn off the truck, but I didn't. I stop the truck and turn the key back and started the truck. Everything started to work fine. This also happen to me back December. Does anyone have an idea what could have cause this to happen.

This is weird. I was driving my 2006 Ford silverado - 5.4L (95,000 miles) today and my engine just shutdown. Everything was warmed up and I had no warning lights on my dash turn on. Thanks,
Sorry, the truck is a Ford F plus three digit starting with 250. Everytime I type in F and the three digit, it will change to silverado. I don't know how this is happening. Maybe someone from FTE will notice this issue.
Not that this helps, but I have the same exact problem with my 2006 F-250 with 38000 miles. It happened maybe 3 or 4 times over the last 6 months or so. I have no idea what the problem could be.
My truck just did the same thing sitting in line at McDonalds. It just shut off no warning, I hit the kit it started right back up and ran fine. I cancelled a trip because I can't figure it out.
I have an 02 f250 with a 5.4 92k miles and it has shut off probably about 4 or 5 times in the past 2 years. only when i'm going slow and have the wheel turned all the way.
my 04 had done it about five times but only in 4wd and im spinning tires to get out, if you try to rock it but babing it too much it will drop rpm between forward and reverse and just die. no lights then it starts right up and its fine. i guess shes telling my to stop being a punk and lay into her!

A bit off topic, here. You probably already know this but shifting between ranges while the wheels are moving or the engine is above idle is EXTREMELY hard on the transmission. "Laying into" it in this scenario is a very quick way to destroy your transmission.
yes i know that i didnt say doing 30mph i would shift. in reverse give it gas hit the brakes then go to drive or first which every the need calls for and if you do it enough the rpms drop way to much and she dies, no codes or nothing and starts right up. im saying mine does the same thing but under different situations. it could be the iac but i really dont think its that. battery cable problem maybe?
you might wanna check the neg cable . I had on my 06 a defective one and they had to replace the whole neg cable assembly.i had my truck shut off on me going 70 + up a mountain.good luck
the problem was in the harness not grounding to the battery and when id hit a bump it would turn off.it was under warranty so it cost me nothing . A PITA though i heard ,seeing that the neg ground has some many leads to it . good luck
I had a old truck that used to do this. When it shut off EVERYTHING shut off. Lights, engine, radio......I mean everything. Scared me 1/2 to death one dark rain filled evening going down a winding mountain road.
It would only do it occasionally, usually after hitting a bump (but not always). After living with it for almost a year and replacing as many things as I could think of replacing, I found a clue. When this happened the battery got REAL hot. After giving this some thought, I deduced the battery was suffering from an intermittent internal short.
I got a new battery and never had the problem again.
