hey guys im new here and im tryin to get some info on a project im tryin to do. ive got an 08' f250 with the 5.4l and im tryin to see if anyone has put a lightning supercharger on these engines?
I would start in the lightning forum and or f150 forums. The engines are fairly similar and it seems to be less popular to hot rod the 5.4 in the big trucks. Most of the heavy duty crowd just do tuners and exaust. I have heard of a guy putting a lightning s/c but he blew up the motor and either put a cummins in it or a 7.3. With that new of a truck I would just try to sell it and get something more performance oriented because the 5.4 is not gonna ever be quick unless you have really deep pockets. If you are however towing and looking at the s/c for power I would head in the gearing direction first.

thanks, im looking on the lightning forums as well, this is the tow vehicle for my swamp buggy and figured this would be a cool project
Cool prodject yes..... I'd wait till the warranty is out. Also it may be cheaper if you have the ability to put a turbo on it. A neighbor used to have a 97 f150 excab 4x4 with the 5.4 not sure on the turbo specs or the intercooler used but it would get 2+ car links racing stock lightnings. It was a nice solid truck but he ended up with a 06 f250 with the 6.0 because of towing.
Granted, it says it will work for '04-'09 F-150s with the 5.4 3V but they may have an app that will work for you. It also says that Roush covers the remainder of the Ford 3/36 warranty or for 1 year on trucks outside the 3/36.
