I finally got my set of gauges!! I got a boost, trans. temp., and pyrometer. I have read alot of the posts on how to install them but i still have a few questions. Can i install these without cutting holes in the factory cover? (except the 2 holes to hold it on) and my pyrometer is not zeroed in. Has this happened to anyone else? And where exactly is the best place and best way to drill for the pyromtere? Thank you in advance.

I got the ultra-lite autometer's. Im asking about the A pillar cover
I have Autometer guages also. When you power it up
it will display the correct temp. When you shut the truck down the needle will rest at around the 200* mark. I talked to Autometer about this and I got a very long winded explanation as to why it does this. All I got out of the converstation is "That's normal"
I assembled mine with out putting the holes in the pillar, but I never got it to tighten up, looked great, but not perfect. I ended up drilling the holes in just for the two temp sensor gauges, leaving the 18awg and the boost line inside of the new pillar, cleaned up nice.. I still have a little of a wave action going on at the window side, but I am hoping that will clean up when it warms up. Otherwise I will be setting in some small screws. The install is/was a breeze.
By the way, a very good friend of mine suggested making sure you have plenty of spare wire looped up under the dash, just in case the the pillar dosent go on perfect, you can pull down and go back up, with out disconnecting any wires..
