What should the tire pressure be at on the Ex?? In the door jam, it says 38psi for the front and 45psi for the rear. The tires say 80psi. What should I have in them?? I am leaving tomorrow with the Travel trailer for a trip (1000 miles) and dont know what to put them at. They are at 50psi now, that is what the tire shop put in them when I had new tires put on.
More like 65 to 75 psi depending on your comfort when towing, the closer you can run to 80 psi the better mpg's will be and the tire is rated @80 psi for max load.

Since your ex was built , Most of the tires that came on the early Excursions (Load Range "D")were recalled and replaced with "E" load range tires. I believe that would be a reason for the higher pressure. I would run 65 to 75 lbs in yours if they are "E" rated.
The sidewall pressure is stated and required to handle the max load rating of the tire...
That's the only reason for that number (other than meaning don't go over that )
Again, I refer everyone to the chalk test... and ask.com or google search will find multiple sites to explain...
And towing versus not really suggest different pressure....
