removing steering gear
I'm trying to get the steering gear off. I've disconnected the linkage at the rag joint, and I was able to remove the three bolts mounting the steering gear to the frame along with the lower bolt. Does it usually take a bit of force to get it off the pitman arm?

The ball joint going into the pitman arm is tapered. Us a pickel fork, AKA a ball joint spreader. If you do not have one, put the not on and run it down to the top is fush with the treads of the ball joint and hit it with a hammer.
