OD, actually 2 OD gears:
4.17 first
2.34
1.52
1.14
0.86
0.69
From the 03/09 Car & Driver article. They also tested the GM, and IIRC, it's the same trans, Ford and GM developed together.
GM ratios:
4.04
2.36
1.52
1.15
0.85
0.66
3.31 axle in the Ford, 3.42 in the GM, tires near same size, mph per 1000 rpm pretty close.
Using OD and a shorter axle puts less stress on the drivetrain than using a really tall axle with short transmission gears.
