Mud Flaps

Hi to all,

Just ordered an '02 F250 (XLT Supercab 4X4 V10 4.30). Will need a set of mud flaps to protect our TT from rocks etc. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good aftermarket product?

Thanks, Jim

Mud Flaps

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 11-Feb-02 AT 10:52 PM (EST)]I had the exact same question, for the same reason. The problem with the SD is there's very little support for big flaps. The large ones I have seen were home-spun versions, using large semi-type flaps, bolting into and through the wheel well at the top, attached to the sheet metal at the side, and using a contrived bracket back to a fender brace.

I went to the dealership, and asked about flaps, he pulled out the Ford form-fitted plastic ones. I asked about the larger ones I had seen around, he stated that they weren't reccomended, because the fenders weren't designed to take that kind of torque from the weight and the air pressure exerted against them at hwy speeds. Made sense to me, I went with the Ford brand...

Look in my gallery, one of the picts shows them pretty well. By the way, the front flaps are another brand, and do not fit very well. Should've went to the dealer first.

Mud Flaps

I bought the Ford mudflaps for my F250 4x4 Crew Cab and they turned out great. All of the mounting holes were already there and they are molded to match the fender curve... Mine carry a lot of snow this time of year in Alaska and they are holding up great.

Have the Ford ones all the way around here. Keeps most of the snow, sand, and mud off of the running boards. In North East Calif here and have been using them in some pretty decent snow, probably not like Edmo though in Alaska. They are holding up well and were easy to install.
