so i switched out my water pump to day and there is one bolt on the bottom right if you are looking at the engine towards the bed and it is leaking so in theory you tighten it right? well i tightened it and it just kept leaking a little faster but non the less leaking so i take it out and the leak pretty much stops so i was wondering if you guys had any ideas on what it might be.
Did you put the right bolts back into the right holes?
What are you leaking, antifreeze or engine oil?
Have you checked to see if the fluid is not actually runningdown the side of the pump, it would naturally show up at the bottom bolt?
Have you checked to see if maybe it is the new pump that might actually be leaking? Rev the engine and check the weephole on the pump with a good light, the seals often leak intermittently so reving the engine up and down might show the leak when it actually happens.
yes its leakin from the bolt it self have all the right bolts in the right holes i think it was my gasket thou cus i took it off again and it had a little rip in it so i ordered a new one
cus when its running it leaks faster than when its shut off
thanks

Remember there are torque values NOT to be exceeded on the bolts entering the front cover or you will strip the welded nut on the cover. that will then call for a front cover replacent. There are 4 bolts that require sealant on the head and the threads to stop coolant leak and oil leaks. Info should have come with the new wpump possibly new bolts too.
