Cyl 8 location?
getting a p0308 code "misfire at cyl 8". 03 f250 sd 5.4l, anyone know which one is cyl 8? It's raining and the truck is hesitating badly I figure it's a bad COP as it may getting wet with the bad weather. Truck has about 63K and haven't done any plug or cop changes as of yet.
Thanks
Lou

I pulled # 8 and found my plug to be pretty beat so pulled another plug and found same. Bought some autolites from napa and replaced all and truck is running great, no codes. I checked all the coils for ohms and they listed .06 across all. Also the # 4 cylinder was a bitch, the boot was stuck to the plug and had to rip it out with pliers, after moving the pcv hose and the wiring harness off the cover it helped but still ruined my hand trying to get that off. Used dielectric grease on all springs & end of cops and also anit-seize on plug threads. Also definitely blow out each hole, found alot of debri and moisture on #8 & #5 and the lock-on extensions are a must I tried without and almost lost the plug socket. Had to remove the typical air intake/filter. Oh and those 7mm bolts for the coils suck too, can't use a wrench as they tend to strip so needed to slip sockets on them (tough with fuel rails). I left the fuel rails on so it is doable with them on.
I love this forum, thanks for all the advice & rep pts given to those guys.
