reverse sensor problems

reverse sensor problems
Ok guys, I need to borrow your brains for a second. I got a 2005 F250 superduty about a month ago, I love it, no real problems, however i didnt get the manual when I bought the truck so im reaching out for some advice. When the truck is running, the reverse sensor button works fine, I can turn it off and on, but as soon as I put the truck in reverse, it automatically reverts to OFF.. Is this a program from the previous owner, or is this a problem with the reverse sensor? any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Dan, welcome.
I`ve got the same problem with my 05 F350 Crew, so far I`ve haven`t checked mine out.
It`s not a program but rather a problem possibly in the wiring harness or one or more of the back up sensors in your back bumper, Since you`ve found the Super Duty And Heavy Duty your in good hands for expert help there as well as in the 2003 - 2007 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum107/

Hi and welcome aboard.
I haven`t looked into it yet since I was more concerned with the starter not working, it turned out that all I had to operate the power door locks afew times. Possibly it was
something to do with the anti theft.....
