new water pump
I replaced my water pump, thermostat and the housing on top of the thermostat. I left the top hose off and filled the reserve and let it fill the system untill coolant came thru the hole in the thermostat. Will this prime the pump?

Yea these trucks aren't too hard to get the air out of the coolant system. You should be ok doing what you did. Be sure to check the level after you take it for a short drive. And keep an eye on the temp gauge.
