I did something pretty stupid, I decided that since i have to swap IP covers and IPs I woul just put both motors at tdc and swapt the whole thing as an assembly. After I pulled the second IP I realised how easy it would be for me to get it a tooth off
I hope I got it on in the right spot is there any way to tell with out ripping it apart? Or am i going to have to pull the pump and gear cover and look down in there with a little mirror and see if i got them lined up?
This thing was delt with a month or so ago. If you do a search you may find the thread. If I remember right you do need a thin mirror to look at the gears.
Good luck.
Thanks fonefiddy that article is realy help full if i put a squre across the top two bolts the marks side going down should be parallel with the bottom of the cover If not i''ll pull it and put the gear in according to that article.
I got a set of metric wrences a pair of wire strippers like the ones that ran off some needle nose vise grips, a pocket knife, rubber tip air blower since mine dosen't have a tip a 1 1/4" wrench. 1,000 bucks dosen't go very far on the snap on truck.
We have a tach and time but I never use it you can time these things by sound and smoke alot better. I had to time a mechanicle dt466 by ear once the cheapo customr didn't want to pay for a timming indicator, his was broke off.
Tryed to fenagle the scope down threw the oil fill tube but that didn't works so i'm gunna gave to pull it apart. No wife so I guess the butter knife is the way to go.
