Ok, since I don't have anything, and am researching for a purchase in the near future, I am hoping someone can help.
I am looking at the Forest River All American or the KZ Sportsmen Sportster 36' 5th wheels. Both these have the back end cargo area for stowing 2 full size Harleys, so, add 1500 lbs to any calculations.
Now, I am wondering, what do I need to haul these things? I *have* to have a 4 door pickup so that basically eliminated Dodge... so, can a Ford F250 do the job? Engine, rear? Or am I pretty much locked into a F350?
Anything I definately should make sure I have or avoid?
Here are the specs of the two trailers as to weight, etc.
Considering that the towed weight is 14,000, the F 250 is out and the F 350 would be maxed out leaving no room for any extras. I think you need to consider the F 550. It's made to tow the big trailers.
