Transmission problem
We have a 2001 Ford Expy 4x4, 5.2L, 90,000 miles.
Has thrown a code "shift 1st to 2nd error" once in a while.
Problem is very intermittant.
The other day it was obvious [still intermittant] when shifting from 1st to 2nd, the RPMs ran up to 3000 and, after letting off of gas, the shift to second occurred.
Everything fine after each time it happens [intermittantly].
Have seen this occur several times now.
Anyone have an idea where to look to diagnose?
We do have a scan tool that can be used while driving to observe the special ford non-generic codes, and values of temp, pressure, etc.
Is there a kit or part that we could install to attempt a fix?
