F150 Towing
ken
cause ive been in a manual f250hd pulling 6400lbs and its
quite the fight to stop that load or get it up a hill(had to
put it in 4wheel low first to make it up some hills.I would
not ride in a 150 attempting that same task. For the price
of swapping(swappings an old truck thing, new ones its
more like major surgery)a tranny that does not come in 150s
like the 6/5 you could buy an old truck that could do
the job with no mods.cause youll need to pull the engine
buy a new trans which isnt cheap, different clutch assembly,
a new rear too probaly cause of the different gears in the
6/5, on top of that you have to pay a mechanic x amount
for atleast a good 10 hours of work. one thing about ford
tow ratings they are almost to much for the trucks to
handle.eg, i towed a 13000lb trailer with a 350SD power stroke
(says it can tow 14000) but the load almost towed me!!into
the ditch when i tried to stop a couple of times.any ways thats
my point of view....
a chev can pass anything except a garage!
