unidentified chimes

My 01 X, while towing to WV and back, has developed some strange symptoms. It is a V10 and periodically you will hear 5 chimes, they are the same tone as door ajar or keys in ignition, but are lower volume. They are always a group of 5 chimes and 5 groups, then will stop. There is no lights on dash, and everything is working. I checked for OBD2 codes and found none. Then on the way home, the radio would shut off for some time and than come back on, when I shut off the truck and remove the keys, the blower will still run. Also the speedo was acting erractic but straightened out. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

first off, are you sure that your battery and alternator are in good shape? test with a volt meter at least? the 5 chimes might be an air bag code. when you turn the ign on, does the air bag light come on and then go off like the rest of the warning lights?

Ok, my air bag light does not come on at all. Manuel says to have it serviced immediately.

The radio being switching off and on and your speedo acting up sounds like an alternator problem... bad diode pack.

I had this same issue, never did find it but it did stop after a while. Almost seemed like it was coming from the driver's side dash somewhere.

Well I changed out the ignition control module, I think that's what it's called, located under the steering column. Seems to have corrected all my issues. Thanks for all the advice, I hope I can help someone down the road.
