Factory GPS

The salesman at a dealership I went to last weekend said the factory GPS in the '09 F-150 updates on it's own through satellite, as in no more buying CD's to upload the new maps into the GPS. Is this true or was he feeding me a line? Thanks!

I know I didn't have to load anything with a CD when I first got the truck. However, I don't know about the updates. That would be really nice if that is the case (that it updates on its own).

i have noticed a couple of times that my Nav system will shut off and then say updating for about 30 secs then it will start back up again. I dont know what it's updateing but perhaps it's the nav.

That could mean for other modles

you know not all modles with nav can be updated threw satelite if possible. Sorry for any word errors I don't have my reading glass with me.
