HELP Need Axle ID

As original 1959/72 F100/250 4WD: Dana 44's only. There were six different variations.
The Ford axle ID rectangular shaped tag was located under two of the bolts on the Dana front/rear axles...that holds the inspection cover on.
But today, the tag is usually missing.
Pic posted only show a WARN manual locking free running hub on an 8 lug F250 (aftermarket) wheel.
There were several variations of these optional WARN hubs available from Ford. Either factory installed on F100/250's, or sold at the parts counter.
It's impossible to tell what the axle is by this pic.
The AXLE code is stamped on the Warranty Plate, located on a truck of this vintage inside the glovebox door.
Ford listed the 4WD front axle code with the rear axle code, but only sporadically.
If the AXLE code is three digits, the third digit refers to the front axle.
The Dana 44 uses a different inspection cover gasket than a Dana 60.

The WARN hubs were an optional accessory.
There were 3 different types, 5 different models of WARN manual locking hubs used on 1959/72 F100 & F250 4WD's.
Ford did not offer a Dana 60 front driving axle until 1973.
So....if the front driving axle is original to the truck, it's either a Dana 44-6F or a Dana 44-6F H/D.
The 44-6F has an axle capacity of 3,000 lbs, while the 44-6CF H/D has an axle capacity of 3500 lbs.
Have you looked for an ID tag, or numbers on the tubes or housing?

they look like the warn premium hubs, not the standard hub. that would explain the 8 bolts instead of the 6 on the standard hubs.
