Got it running...

Here's a video of the truck running. Just thought I'd post it in a new post... this is after some modifications (I've been working in it a lot lately) and it seems to sputter around a bit and die. I think it's due to a lack of fuel or wrong carb settings but I made sure to set the float level, and mixture, idle screws right. What do you guys think.

Well I figured it out on my own. Got it running up and down the driveway. Brings up a few more issues though. Someone mentioned that maybe it was because the plugs were fouled by gasoline? What's to stop the new ones from getting like this. I pulled one out after I had it running and the bottom was all black and sooty. This is normal for engine wear correct?

May be hard to come to a conclusion on the plugs till you have run it for a while but might be running a bit rich.

What did you do to get it running?

Messed with carb settings, mainly adjusted the float level and the mixture screws but I don't think that was it. I mainly think one of the plugs was fouled. There's a possibility that when I was changing out the wires one of them was loose, but I had checked those before so maybe not. Maybe this didn't do it, I don't know. It's great though, I can take it up and down the driveway without fail.

Save yourself some time and money and invest in a Harbor Freight spark plug cleaner.
